Joseph A. Mills
President and CEO

Mr. Mills has nearly 36 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including public company management experience. Mr. Mills joined Samson on March 1, 2017 as the company emerged from bankruptcy. Previously, he served as Chairman of the Board and CEO of Eagle Rock Energy Partners, a publicly traded Master Limited Partnership (MLP) where he was responsible for creating and managing the strategic direction of the company and its growth. Prior to that role, he founded and served as CEO of Montierra Minerals & Production, L.P., a private equity backed mineral and upstream company. He has also served as Senior Vice President of Operations for Black Stone Minerals, L.P., Senior Vice President of El Paso Production Company and Sonat Exploration Company. Mr. Mills serves on the Board of Directors of Roan Resources Company (NYSE: ROAN) and is a member of the University of Houston Energy Advisory Board. Mr. Mills holds a BBA in Petroleum Land Management from the University of Texas, Austin and an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Houston.


Josh C. Anders
Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Anders joined Samson Resources in April 2018 as Chief Financial Officer with over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, most recently as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Adams Resources & Energy, Inc. Previously, he served as Vice President and Controller at Southwestern Energy Company; Vice President and Treasurer for Beryl Oil and Gas, LP and Corporate Finance Manager at Pogo Producing Company. Mr. Anders is a Certified Public Accountant and holds an Executive MBA from Texas A&M University, a Masters from the University of Houston with a focus in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in finance from Louisiana State University. Mr. Anders also served 6 years in the Louisiana Army National Guard where he was a two-time recipient of the Army Achievement Medal.


Matthew Phillips
Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Phillips joined Samson Resources Company in 2012 as a Reservoir and Completions engineer working the East Texas Cotton Valley play. Through the years he has held various increasing roles and responsibilities inside the company including Mid-Continent Asset Manager and General Manager of Operations and Assets for all business units. Prior to Samson, Mr. Phillips worked for XTO Energy in East Texas, as well as Farmington New Mexico as an operations and completions engineer. Mr. Phillips received a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M.


G. Scott Koors
Vice President-Land and Business Development

Mr. Koors joined Samson Resources Company in April 2002 and has held various leadership positions within the Reserves and Economics department as well as Portfolio Management where he managed a multi-disciplinary technical team responsible for identifying, evaluating, developing and implementing all potential acquisition and divestiture opportunities that support the company’s strategic initiatives. Prior to joining Samson Resources, Mr. Koors held various leadership positions with the Williams Companies and CITGO Petroleum. Mr. Koors holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, with a minor in Accounting, from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Business Administration from Oklahoma City University.


Sharolyn C. Whiting-Ralston
General Counsel, Vice President-Human Resources and Corporate Secretary

Ms. Whiting-Ralston joined Samson Resources Company in June 2014 as Assistant General Counsel-Labor and Employment, and since that time has held positions of increasing responsibility within the legal department, in addition to assuming responsibility for the human resources department and investor relations. Prior to joining Samson Resources, Ms. Whiting-Ralston was a shareholder at McAfee & Taft, a professional corporation, where she practiced law primarily in the areas of labor and employment and complex business litigation. Ms. Whiting-Ralston has also held positions as an associate attorney at Doerner, Saunders, Daniel & Anderson; Marketing Director and product manager for Cedar Creek, Inc. and commodity lumber trader/product manager at Georgia Pacific Corporation. Ms. Whiting-Ralston currently serves on the Board of the Tulsa Day Center for the Homeless.  Ms. Whiting-Ralston holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Oklahoma State University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Tulsa College of Law.
